STS Self-Care Saturdays are wellness events that happen twice a month in the Atlanta area and are complementary to the community. We offer a wide range of activities to promote positive self-care (i.e. yoga, meditation, Zumba, journaling, cooking and more). Annual No Reservations Needed: Father’s Food and Football Pre Father's Day celebration, at the Atlanta Mission Shelter. Attendees enjoy BBQ, music, video games, hair cuts and fellowship with Former NFL players. volunteer to serve food, play video games, enjoy music, and fellowship with other volunteers.
Silence the Shame will host at least one tailgate during the Atlanta Falcons Football Season. 2019 was the first year and the men at the Atlanta Mission enjoyed hotdogs, hamburgers, and chicken. We provided a live DJ and game for the tables so the men could relax after the meal
Silence the Shame Sunday occurs on the Sunday during the week of National Silence the Shame day. This year, 2019, Silence the Shame Sunday will be on National Silence the Shame Day, May 5th. Churches will participate nationwide spreading the message by recognizing that May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and getting the conversation started in their congregation.
