How To Help

As we close an impactful year at Silence the Shame, Inc. (STS), thank you for your continued commitment to mental wellness. Your support helps create spaces where people can recognize the signs, seek help, and thrive.

When Times Are Tough, Community Is Therapy

We’re all feeling it. The cost of living keeps climbing. Insurance feels impossible. Parents are caring for anxious teens while battling their own depression — and far too many are choosing between bills and wellness.

These are tough times. But tough times also remind us that we still have each other.

When professional help feels out of reach, community becomes the medicine.

At Silence the Shame, we believe mental health care should never be a luxury. Your story, your struggle, and your support matter here.

When we check in on our neighbors, share a meal, listen without judgment, or simply remind someone they’re not alone — that’s therapy too. It’s what keeps hope alive when resources are scarce.

Your gift keeps community care alive.
Every donation helps us provide free and low-cost mental health programs, support groups, and education for families who otherwise couldn’t afford care.
When you give, you’re not just funding a program — you’re building a bridge to healing.

This year, our programs and outreach have continued to grow:

Youth, Schools, and Family Engagement (2025 to date)

  • Youth leadership: 120+ youth and young adults served as ambassadors, workshop leaders, or volunteers
  • Workshops/Webinars: 12+ sessions integrating 988 education (live and virtual)
  • Schools/Colleges: 10+ events across APS and higher education partners, including counselor training and resource distribution
  • COPE Youth Workshops: 320+ youth served directly
  • Families: 2 Parent Cafés with 53+ unique parents engaged

Events and Community Activation

  • Community tabling: 18+ in-person events with 1,000+ direct engagements
  • Self-care and Conversations: 15 sessions (self-care socials, vision boards, Conversations & Care forums) with 350+ attendees
  • Suicide Prevention Training: 42+ participants trained in QPR/MHFA

These numbers reflect people reached with practical tools, timely resources, and supportive conversations—especially where resources are stretched.

We invite you to strengthen your impact this holiday season by contributing to STS. Your generous donations will help sustain and expand our vital efforts, ensuring we continue to provide essential services and support for vulnerable communities throughout the year. Every dollar you contribute directly supports initiatives that promote community outreach and mental health education. To donate, please visit our website at www.
