The STS Youth & Young Adult Advisory Board and Ambassador Program exist to empower and share youth voices, eliminate mental health stigma, and improve mental health outcomes for young people 13 – 26 years old. Members of both programs will have the opportunity to promote their voice in the community, educate and empower peers in mental health awareness, and increase mental health literacy and stigma reduction efforts to promote resiliency support to students and families. The overall goal is to mobilize youth advocacy and leadership and improve positive youth development.

Ambassadors will bring mental health awareness to their communities through digital content, including but not limited to, social media posts, reels, IG live interviews, podcast episodes, etc. These youth and young adults are considered brand ambassadors for the STS organization and will assist in increasing visibility and eliminating stigma by opening conversations on topics related to mental health.

Youth and Young Adult Advisory Council (YAC) members will utilize their voice to inform best practices and to guide programming related to their peer groups. YAC members will develop skills such as, event planning, public speaking, advocacy, resource creation, and community building. They will have opportunities to serve as panelists, facilitate expression stations with their peers, and create resources to support the Ambassadors.
